The trek around Mount Manaslu is considered one of the best treks in the world because it is off the beaten path and offers an unparalleled trekking experience in comparison to other treks in Nepal. The trek is limited to trekkers who have government permits and passes by ancient Tibetan-Buddhist villages, forests of Rhododendron, high alpine meadows and over the Larkya La Pass (5160m).

The Manaslu region has retained some of its rugged beauty and is therefore very appealing to many trekkers. In contrast to the heavily commercialised EBC and ABC trekking routes, the Manaslu Circuit does not have this same level of commercialism and remains somewhat untouched by tourism.

However, what will the accommodation be like during your stay on the Manaslu Circuit? What is the standard of the tea houses? What can you expect from the lodges when trekking deep within the Himalayas? And which hotels along your route will provide you with your best options for accommodation?

This guide will answer all the above questions and much more, as we will provide a complete overview of the main overnight stopping points on the Manaslu circuit, from Machhikhola to Bhutanthang, along with a detailed description of the best recommended tea houses at all of the villages.

It will allow you to create a more efficient travel itinerary, sleep more soundly while travelling, and make the entire trip more enjoyable. This updated guide (2026) on the teahouses and guesthouses located along the Manaslu Circuit will help you find accommodations to suit your travel budget. No matter if you are a first-time trekker or have been trekking for years, it’s important to know where you are staying along the way before you leave home.

Introduction to Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodations List With Their Prices in 2026, 2027

The Manaslu Circuit is located in Nepal and is a classic Himalayan trekking experience. Teahouses and lodges provide the accommodation rather than luxury hotels. Teahouses are typically small guesthouses, run by local families, and they provide a basic bed, shared bathroom facilities, and a shared dining area. As with most travel destinations, prices increase as the altitude gets higher due to the logistics of getting supplies to the mountain, which makes the costs higher to clients.

In low altitude villages like Soti Khola or Jagat, a teahouse room will run you between $5 and $7 USD per night. In mid-altitude stops like Namrung, Lho and Sama Gaun, expect to pay between $8 and $10 USD. For the 2026 to 2027 trekking seasons, prices are expected to increase to about $12 to $15 per night in towns higher up near the Larkya La Pass, such as Samdo or Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi).

These prices typically include simple bedding. And many teahouses will give you a discount or even a free room if you eat all your meals there. But hot showers, Wi-Fi and device charging are extra. Each is priced individually. On cold nights at altitude, you'll be glad you budgeted for that hot shower.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation in Teahouses En Route

Machhikhola (Machhakhola)

Located along the Manaslu Circuit, Machhikhola is the first stop where you will get a full night's rest; Machhikhola means "Fish River." This warm village next to the river is 930m above sea level. It has a variety of teahouses that offer different degrees of comfort. With this variety, you will have a welcoming start to the trail.

Where to Stay in Machhikhola?

Hotel Nirvana

This is one of the best hotels in Machhikhola. It is the highest-rated lodge in the village. It has the cleanest rooms with the best bedding and a well-run kitchen. The staff is friendly and very experienced at providing hospitality to visitors in an efficient manner. The hotel fills up quickly during peak season, so you should plan for an early arrival.

Hotel Larke Peak

This is a reliable mid-range teahouse that is popular with groups of trekkers. The hotel has clean, comfortable rooms that provide a very quiet place to relax. The dining room, which is also very lively, has a generous amount of food available in the restaurant. This is a great place to stay when you arrive on Day 1 of your trek.

Hotel Chum Valley (or Tsum Valley Hotel)

This family-run hostel has a very traditional feel to it. The rooms are very simple but clean; there is a communal dining room where you can enjoy home-cooked meals with other trekkers. This is a great value for trekkers who are looking for character over comfort.

Some of the other teahouses available to you include Tsum Valley Guest House, Larkey Guest House, Everest Guest House and Hilltop Guest House-the specific teahouse will depend on which one has space for your accommodation. All teahouses provide trekkers with minimal food and comforts during their trek. All of the teahouses offer Trekkers WiFi and warm showers. You will need to pay for these additional services in cash while at the teahouse.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Machhikhola

Machhikhola has reasonable prices for accommodations along the Manaslu circuit; a typical room will cost you between USD $5 – 7 per night, which will include basic bedding. If you choose to eat at your lodges, then you may be able to get some type of room discount from your lodges; if not, you will have to pay for an additional hot shower, Wi-Fi connection, and device charging.

Jagat

The Manaslu Restricted Area Permit is checked at the checkpoint in Jagat. In addition to being the check-in for the administrative area, Jagat is a quaintly constructed, stone-paved village sitting high above the gorge of the Budhi Gandaki. You will experience the remote culture of the area in Jagat.

Where Do You Stay in Jagat?

Manaslu Shanti Hotel

The best hotel in Jagat and clean as well as better insulated than other hotels, with freshly cooked meals and a range of choices on the menu. Owners are very courteous and helpful, and the hotel is a great place to pick up your permit before entering the restricted area.

New Mongolian Hotel

A good, popular alternative hotel with consistent rooms and good food service that also offers a place where guided trekkers can station themselves. The hotel has a very busy and cheerful dining area and would be a great option if you fail to get into the Shanti hotel during the busy season.

Besides the above, you will have the option of using the following teahouses in Jagat: Jagat Guest House, Himalayan Tourist Guest House, and Rubii Nala Guest House. The teahouses provide you with WiFi and satellite phone access so that you can keep in contact with your friends and family while you are travelling along the Manaslu Trail.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Costs in Jagat

Approximate costs for rooms are about USD $5-7/night, including bedding. If you commit to all meals at your lodge, your room will be free or discounted at check-in. Extras such as hot showers, wifi and device charging will be added to your cost at check-in.

Deng

Deng is located in the deep gorge of the trail, at an altitude of 1,860m. It has the most dramatic section of the gorge, consisting of sheer cliffs, a fast-flowing river, and suspension bridges. Deng is a necessary rest stop for the trekker, usually reached at Day 3 or 4 of your journey, with limited but adequate accommodation to rest at before continuing your hike in the direction of Namrung.

Accommodation in Deng

Hotel Shangri-La Home (Shangrilla Hotel)

The Hotel Shangri-La Home is in a prime location in Deng and is one of the best teahouses to stay at. It is well run by the owner and the staff, who are very friendly and accommodating despite the fact that Deng is remote. The rooms are clean, the kitchen is great, and the staff will do anything they can to ensure that tired trekkers can rest easily. This is a warm and reliable stopover along a tough section of trail.

Some other options in Dengi include: Windy Valley Guest House, Sangrila Cottage, and New Manaslu Guest House, subject to availability. The accommodations are basic but clean guest houses for trekkers. There are also no hot shower facilities in the lodges, so trekkers should prepare for no additional amenities or services in the higher elevations of the trek.

Cost For Accommodation in the Deng-Manaslu Circuit Trek

The typical rate to stay at a teahouse in Deng is about USD $5-$7 per night with basic bedding provided. A meal will also be discounted when you have a room at the same time. There is not a lot of choice when eating, but all meals are simple, hot and taste good. Hot showers, WiFi and device charging are charged separately.

Namrung

Welcome to Namrung, the entry point into Tibetan culture! Namrung, at an elevation of 2630m, is a transition from Gurung-style buildings to the new Tibetan-style stones adorned with prayer flags and mani walls. The mountains of Siring and Ganesh Himal will start to appear at this level. Compared to the lower gorge villages, teahouses provide improved insulation and solar lighting.

Where To Stay In Namrung?

Namrung Thakali Guest House

The teahouse that gets the most recommendations from other trekkers. The hospitality of the Thakali people and food will be noted throughout the mountain areas of Nepal; Namrung Thakali Guesthouse offers just what you would expect — great food and service. Rooms are clean, and there is a warm, friendly dining room area for you to relax and adjust to the altitude.

Namrung River View

Nampung River View teahouse has beautiful river views of a more rural and quiet setting. This teahouse is also a reliable option; therefore, if the Thakali Guesthouse is busy with other trekkers, this should be your plan "B." It is an excellent location for those who like a quiet finish to an exhausting trek day.

Some other options in Namrung include Namrung guest house and Nubri Four Season resort, depending on availability. The accommodation options feature services like wifi and a hot shower.

Manaslu Circuit Trekking Accommodation Price In Namrung

The average rate for a room is around USD $8-10 per night for 2026 - 2027, including bedding. Many lodges will give you a discount or free room on the condition that you eat at their lodge. Hot showers, internet, and charging devices are all available at an additional cost.

Lho Village

Lho is one of the most standout views along the circuit, offering you a tremendous, close-up view of Mount Manaslu’s massive southern face. It features a very old monastery and strong ties to the local culture of Tibetan Buddhism. You can see improvement in the lodging options since last season.

Where to Stay in Lho?

Hotel Blue Sky

Hotel Blue Sky, the first choice for a tea house in the area (it’s also the best), has phenomenal, unobstructed views of Manaslu from both your room and while having any meal in their great dining room. Hotel Blue Sky is always clean and very well-stocked with a large menu and service from a friendly and knowledgeable staff. It’s a great place to acclimatize to the high altitude before you continue higher on the circuit.

Some of the other accommodation options Lho village has are as follows:
Majestic Manaslu, Tashi Dalek Guest House, Namaste Guest House and Lama Guest House. These provide services such as WiFi, Sky phones and hot showers.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Lho

The average price for a room during the years of 2026-2027 is about USD $8-10 per night, which will include basic bed linens (sheets, pillow, and blanket). Eating all meals at your lodge usually earns you a little discount or no cost at all for the room. There are also extra costs for hot showers, Internet access, and charging your devices at this high of a condition.

Shayla (Syala / Shylla)

Shayla is a small village with great views of both Himal Chuli and Manaslu. It also serves as an important spot for overnight stays between Lho and Samagang. Shayla's nights can be very cold, so having good insulation and warm bedding is extremely important. Shayla provides a very calm and meditative experience.

Where to Stay in Shayla?

Shanti Guest House

This is the recommended tea house while in Shayla. The tea house is very clean, kept up well, the owner is very attentive, and the food is made fresh and gives you plenty of food. "Shant" means peace, and this tea house lives up to its name as a great place to acclimatize properly before departing for Samagang and Samdo.

Aama Hotel

"Aama" means mother in Nepali, and that describes the type of family-run tea house. It has a very warm, homely feeling to it, and they serve simple (but made with love) meals and provide basic, clean rooms. Aama will leave a very lasting and positive impression on you, especially if you are looking for true local hospitality while hiking the trek.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Shayla

Rooms cost around $8 to 10 per night from 2026 to 2027, and beds are included. If you eat at your lodge, you usually get a discount or a free room. You do have to pay a little extra for hot showers, Wi-Fi, and device charging.

Samagaun

Samagaun is located at an altitude of 3,530 m above sea level. Samagaun is considered the largest and most developed village along the Manaslu Circuit, and it's referred to as the 'unofficial capital' of the Manaslu Circuit trek. Most groups will spend 2 nights in Samagaun to acclimatize and take other optional hikes to either Manaslu Base Camp or Birendra Lake. Accommodation options in Samagaun are plentiful, and with the great variety of menus available, there is likely to be something for everyone. Some lodges will even have attached bathrooms.

Where to Stay in Samagaun?

Hotel Bodhisattva

Samagaun's top teahouse has clean rooms and the best menu of any teahouse on the Manaslu Circuit. Named for the Buddhist concept representing the ultimate state of enlightenment, Hotel Bodhisattva encompasses the area's culture and spirituality. This hotel is one of the most popular hotels between October and November, and it is advisable to arrive at least a day in advance, or ask your guide to reserve a room for you ahead of time.

Mt. Manaslu Hotel

This hotel has good rooms, a large menu, and a dining room that is well populated with fellow trekkers. The kind and knowledgeable staff will also keep you well informed about trail conditions and acclimatization hikes.

Tashi Delek

Tashi Delek is a basic, clean and friendly teahouse with basic accommodation, reasonably priced and substantial food and a very good atmosphere for socialising. In Tibetan, Tashi Delek means "good luck", and this teahouse definitely embodies that theme.

You can find several other lodging options throughout the area, among them are Sama Gaun Guest House, Peace Heaven, Norling, Nubri Valley, and Gurung Cottage Guest Houses, subject to availability. The teahouses typically offer a variety of amenities, such as internet access, hot showers, and phone service via satellite (depending on their level of operation, they may need to charge directly for these).

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Samagaun

The accommodation prices range from $8-$10 (USD) per night per room and include bedding. Accommodation with a private bathroom typically costs a little more. Hot showers, Wi-Fi, and charging devices are available with additional costs.

Samdo

With its stark and elemental beauty, this Tibetan village is the last true settlement prior to Dharamsala and the Larka La Pass. The windswept yak pastures, ancient stone walls, and prayer flags all combine to create an incredible atmosphere, while the accommodation is relatively simple yet sufficient.

Where to Stay in Samdo?

Snow Lion (Snow Lion Hotel)

The best place to stay in Samdo is the Snow Lion Lodge, which is one of the largest teahouses in Samdo and has clean rooms that have good insulation, along with a dependable kitchen that serves up hot and satisfying meals. The Snow Lion is also well-staffed.

The staff are highly experienced, compassionate, and can thrive under impossible conditions.

Jambala (Zamballa Hotel)

In case the Snow Lion does not have rooms available, the Jambala serves as an excellent backup option. The accommodation there is also relatively simple but sufficient to provide the required level of rest prior to setting out early for Dharamsala the next day. All lodges in Samdo are equally designed to allow for maximum levels of rest before the most demanding day of the trek.

Another Option for accommodations is the Yak Hotel or the Tibetan Twin Hotel, depending upon what's available. Please note that these locations have WiFi, but beyond WiFi, the hotels won't have additional conveniences like hot showers and/or high-tech communications services. The conditions at these locations can be simple to limited accommodation facilities along the trekking route.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Samdo

Accommodation prices in the Samdo area are higher (around USD$12–15 a night) for the 2026–2027 year than in other areas along the Manaslu Circuit Trek because it is so remote and also difficult to transport things there. Bedding is provided, and there are some chances for hot showers; both Wi-Fi and device charging come at an extra cost.

Dharmasala / Larkya Phedi

The highest place to spend a night on the trek and the most basic, Dharmasala, is made up of a small group of stone buildings whose only job is to provide shelter before the crossing of the Larke La Pass at dawn (5,160m). Rooms are basic, electricity isn't always available, and toilets are minimal. The bond between trekkers on the night before they cross the Larke La Pass is something they will never forget.

Where to Stay in Dharmasala?

Jambala Hotel

This is the primary recommended accommodation in high camp and has the best available facilities (all very basic but meaningful) at this elevation (4,460 m). The staff will provide you with plenty of carbohydrate-rich fuel meals such as dal bhat, fried noodles, and porridge. Arriving early is recommended because if all of the rooms become occupied, the only alternative would be to try to find a place outside on the tent platforms.

Peaceful Hotel

This hotel can be considered an alternative accommodation to the Jambala as it is similar in nature and quality (i.e., dedicated personnel, meals to help warm you up, and places to sleep before crossing the pass). Together, these two hotels will ensure every person trekking through the Dharamsala area has somewhere to stay and eat before beginning the most difficult day of their trek.

Some other accommodation options with bonus features (like hot showers and WiFi) are: Mountain Ponker Cottages, Ganga Manaslu, Sushma Guest House, or Himalayan Guest House, depending on availability.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Dharmasala

Room costs at Dharmasala will range from $12 to $15 per night, making Dharmasala one of the more expensive places to stay on the Manaslu Circuit due to the altitude and the difficulty with supplies. Bedding is provided. Each meal (including breakfast), hot water, and recharging of ‘devices’ are provided at a cost and a much higher rate than in other lower elevation villages.

Bhimthang

After Larke La comes the 360-degree view of Mount Manaslu, Himlung Himal and Cheo Himal above the stunning landscapes of Bhimthang, a widespread alpine meadow at an altitude of 3,720m (12,600ft). Guesthouses and tea houses are at full capacity with weary but joyous trekkers. Accommodations in Bhimthang are relatively superior to what you would find in villages before the pass, with a greater variety and higher quality of meal options due to better access to supplies.

Where Do I Stay in Bhimthang?

Ponker Guesthouse

The Ponker is by far one of the best lodges available in Bhimthang. It has clean and well-kept rooms with good bedding, an extensive menu (including many great Western menu options alongside local dishes), and a very friendly staff. After spending time in Dharmasala and the Larke La, Ponker will feel like you have arrived in paradise and will have an incredibly welcoming atmosphere for anyone looking to rest after the strenuous hike.

Apple Garden Guest House

The Apple Garden Guesthouse has one of the most charming atmospheres. The rooms are clean, but basic, and the celebratory mood of your fellow guests is very accommodating of any exhausted trekker who may be ready to relax after their journey.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Accommodation Price in Bhimthang

Room prices are generally USD 8-10 per night, including all bedding; as more supplies are getting here than in previous areas (like Samdo or Dharmasala), food is also typically of much higher quality. Prices for hot showers/Wi-Fi/device charging are charged for these services on an individual basis.

Practical Tips for Teahouse Trekking on the Manaslu Circuit

Plan for the Fall Peak Season

October is the high season on the Manaslu Circuit. Famous teahouses such as Hotel Bodhisattva in the village of Samagaun and Hotel Nirvana in Machhikhola book up early. Coordinate with the trekking agency to make the necessary booking, especially for Samagaun acclimatization and nights, as well as the Dharmasala high camp.

Carry Cash in Nepalese Rupees

There are no ATMs past Arughat or Gorkha Bazaar, and all teahouses function on a cash-only basis. Have NPR 30,000–50,000: To last for the trek in covering meals, accommodation (at lodges), hot showers, charging, and emergencies.

Respect the Teahouse Owners and the Local Culture

Teahouse operators operate in rugged, remote settings. Be respectful, take off your shoes indoors, ask to take photos, keep noise down, and thank your hosts. A small tip helps the local economy.

Prepare Your Own Sleeping Gear

Even at the best teahouses, blankets may not be warm enough. Carry a sleeping bag rated to -10°C or -15°C – imperative for those high-altitude nights, especially at Dharamsala.

Take the Proper Time for Acclimatisation and Avoid Rushing

Sleep well at Namrung, Lho, and Samagaun, gain only 300–500 meters a day above 3,000 meters, and take a rest day every few days. Listen to your body and seek advice in your locale if you experience symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions About Manaslu Circuit Accommodations

What Is a Teahouse on the Manaslu Circuit?

In Nepal's mountain trails, the traditional accommodation for trekkers is called a teahouse. Trekkers get to stay in teahouses or lodges, with the Manaslu Circuit offering everything from simple family-run guesthouses to more advanced lodges with private accommodation, dining and hot shower service. Knowing what to expect will avoid disappointment and let you appreciate all that the local community has done to create such a wonderful place to visit, through some very challenging conditions.

What Do Manaslu Teahouses Typically Offer?

Teahouses that are situated along the Manaslu Circuit mostly feature either dormitory-style/shared accommodations or twin-bedded private rooms, both of which come equipped with thin foam mattresses and blankets. While the sleeping pads/blankets are often adequate, they do not offer any kind of luxury.

If you are at a lower elevation (especially through Machhikhola, Jagat, and Deng), there are superior accommodations offered by these lodges, such as toilets/attached bathrooms, places to charge electronics, and sometimes even Wi-Fi connections. Conversely, as you make your way upwards to Samagaun, Samdo, and Dharmasala, the accommodations will also get much more basic. Dining rooms use wood-burning stoves for heat; sources of electricity may include solar panels or hydroelectricity, and can be somewhat unreliable.

Food will be served in a communal dining area, and you will find a set menu that includes options from Dal Bhat (lentil soup with rice), noodles, pasta, soup, porridge, fried rice, and various types of local dishes. You can find tea/coffee/hot chocolate, and boiled drinking water available in nearly all villages. Almost always, the cost of meals is incorporated or is closely related to room rates; however, the actual policies for each lodge may differ widely.

What Should Trekkers Bring That Teahouses Do Not Provide?

  •  A good quality sleeping bag rated to -10°C for higher altitudes

  • Earplugs, as teahouses, have relatively thin walls

  • Padlock for the room door

  • Toilet paper and hand sanitiser

  • Portable battery charger/power bank

  • Water purification tablets / Filter bottle

  • Toiletries such as soap and shampoo

Where Is the Best Accommodation on the Manaslu Circuit?

The best accommodation (the highest quality and greatest degree of comfort) on the Manaslu Circuit occurs mainly in the lower and mid-elevation villages. The top-notch accommodations on the Manaslu Circuit include Hotel Nirvana in Machhikhola, Manaslu Shanti Hotel in Jagat, and Hotel Bodhisattva in Samagaun, which are highly regarded as the best accommodations found on the entire route.

Trekkers should have reasonable expectations for high elevation accommodation above 4,000 metres, as they will have basic warmth and food, as opposed to comfort.

When Should I Trek the Manaslu Circuit for the Best Accommodation Experience?

Though the best two times to trek the Manaslu Circuit are in Spring (March – May) and Fall (Sep – Nov), teahouses are in peak operation; more diverse teahouse menus with more options, and optimal teahouse facilities.

Fall, especially in October, is typically regarded as the ideal time to trek the Manaslu Circuit; most likely to have stable weather, clear visibility, and the best experiences at teahouses throughout the trek.

Trekking can also be done during the shoulder seasons (mid-February or late November). However, during these times, some teahouses might not be open or, if they are, have limited food options.

What Type of Rooms Are Available in Manaslu Circuit Teahouses?

The majority of teahouses along the Manaslu Circuit will have twin-bed rooms as their standard; however, some teahouses offer shared-co-ed dorm rooms for budget trekkers. At the best teahouses, such as Nirvana and Bodhisattva, the rooms are private and adequately furnished with wooden beds, adequate mattresses, and pillows.

But the teahouses that are further up the trek at places like Dharmasala or Samdo will have more basic rooms, often just a wooden frame bed with a thin foam mattress.

Very few teahouses currently have en-suite bathroom facilities on the Manaslu Circuit; however, almost every teahouse does provide shared bathroom facilities for their guests.

How Much Does Accommodation Cost on the Manaslu Circuit?

The prices of rooms on the Manaslu Circuit can vary greatly depending on elevation, the season, and the type of teahouse you are trying to stay at. Private double rooms at lower elevations can cost from NPR 500-1,500 (USD $4-$12) per night, depending on the quality of the hotel.

Higher elevation will often offer a nominal or no charge for the room, but with the expectation that eating all meals in the teahouse will be the norm for guests staying at such establishments - this is true for most of the other trekking routes through the Himalayas. The primary revenue source for teahouse operators at high elevations is from people eating there, so as a person treks, you should expect to eat at the same place you sleep.

Which Village Has the Most Accommodation Options on the Manaslu Circuit?

Samagaun is the best village along the Manaslu Circuit to find lodging, both in terms of availability of choices and types of lodging. There have been significant improvements made to the lodges in Samagaun, as there are usually two nights for almost all trekkers going through Samagaun for acclimatization purposes.

Samagaun boasts a number of lodges to choose from; Hotel Bodhisattva is your top choice, while you also have Mt. Manaslu Hotel and Tashi Delek to choose from, so you will certainly have a real choice when you get to Samagaun. Secondly, to Samagaun is Machhikhola, which has three different lodges that cover all types of budgets.

How Do I Book Teahouses on the Manaslu Circuit in Advance?

Unlike other tourist facilities in Nepali cities, most teahouses along the Manaslu Circuit do not have an online booking system. As such, the traditional way, which will continue to be true through 2026, is for your trekking agency or local guide to book your accommodation for you by calling the lodging owner directly.

Your local guide usually has a good relationship with the teahouse owners along the way and can usually make reservations, even in the busy autumn months. However, if you are an independent trekker (who is required to trek with a licensed guide on the Manaslu Circuit due to permit requirements), it is best to work with your guide to secure your accommodation in advance, before leaving home.

Why Do Some Teahouses Require Meals to Be Eaten There?

While this policy is common throughout the trekking routes of Nepal, it is most frequently enforced in remote areas like the Manaslu Circuit. Hospitality in these remote areas is driven by economics, as the owners of the teahouses charge very little for rooms and use the sale of meals (which have significantly higher profit margins) as a sole source of income.

The logistics and cost associated with getting food to teahouses at high altitude are staggering, as the supplies must be delivered by yaks, horses, or porters over several days along mountain trails. Buying meals at your place of stay is an economic necessity for the teahouse operators, as well as a way to support the village people who have built and maintained the teahouse infrastructure on which you will depend during your trek.

What Is the Difference Between a Best Hotel and a Standard Hotel on the Manaslu Circuit?

Hotel classifications along the Manaslu circuit are based on the context of the standard of accommodation for trekking in the Himalayas rather than international hotel classifications. Best hotels such as Hotel Nirvana in Machhikhola, Manaslu Shanti Hotel in Jagat, or Hotel Bodhisattva in Samagaun typically provide their customers with cleaner and better maintained rooms, a larger selection of higher quality food and beverages, a greater level of personal attention, a more reliable supply of electricity and phone charging services, and often, slightly better sanitation services than standard hotels.

Standard hotels will usually provide adequate accommodation for most trekkers and will generally be safe and functional places to sleep and eat. When comparing the prices of the best hotels versus standard hotels, the differences are relatively small on an absolute basis, and the increase in comfort is well worth the additional expense, especially for first-time trekkers in the Himalayas.
