After a long physical trek to Everest Base Camp, the helicopter service by Mountain Rock Treks was a welcome comfort for the trip from Gorakshep to Kathmandu and back. The helicopter was comfortable, and the pilot I found to be experienced, confident, and personable. 

The views of flying over the Himalayas were overwhelmingly beautiful, and really, the helicopter trip back to Kathmandu was an integral part of my trip. Everything, from booking to preparations to flying, was all 100% professional and clear.

The itinerary's goal was cultural engagement, and cultural engagement was achieved. I found Mountain Rock Treks via Instagram and was engaged with the posts that shared local culture. Our guide Sonam was able to share organically engagement with a Tibetan family where we shared yak butter tea, and were engaged in conversation with the family about their everyday lives. 

Our family of five took the Tibet 8-day tour, and it was a fantastic experience. The itinerary covered Lhasa, Shigatse, Gyantse, and more, offering a great mix of culture, history, and nature. The kids loved seeing the monasteries and the spectacular mountain views. Mountain Rock Treks provided excellent service and affordable pricing compared to other operators. Highly recommended for families seeking a safe and enriching trip.

We wanted something fun outside, since for the weekend, as not too far from Kathmandu. Mountain Rock Treks planned for us to take the Nagarjun-Jamacho hike with our group.

I totally enjoyed the combination of forest, temples, and viewpoints on the hike for all fitness levels.

This tour was more than just temples; there were local experiences included as well, such as Juju Dhau tasting and pottery quarters. The guide, Mountain Rock Treks, also made a point to show us some undiscovered elements and local artisans, so it felt like much more than a standard tour. Transportation included, good guide, minor cultural immersion- a super value.

In May 2025, a group of five trekkers completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Mountain Rock Treks. The first day began with a group of experts: our guide Pawan, assistant guide Nimesh and our brave and fierce porters - Shyam, Biplav and Dinesh - always smiling through the rain, cold, snow and sun. The trek was endurance testing: countless stairs with lots of time spent staring up at or down from suspension bridges as we went from one valley to another, and emblematic sunrises over the Himalaya mountain range. Our guides ensured to keep us moving, to encourage us through our exhaustion, and were happy to share their knowledge of the area.

From our arrival in Kathmandu until our departure, we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional professionalism and assistance provided by Mountain Rock Treks on our nine-day Manaslu Circuit Trek. They arranged our airport transfers to and from our pre-booked hotel in Thamel, relieving us of the hassle of planning this crucial aspect before our trek. '
