From airport pickups to settling the tent at the base camp, everything went according to the plan without any hitch. The guides were professional mountain climbers who were also quite entertaining, and had good tales to tell on the traditions of the people and past trips. The acclimatisation program was good too, with most of us able to cope with altitude gradually. The summit attempt was difficult but also it was fun. It has always been my ambition to reach the peak of Chulu East Peak, and at last, I did. 

Our guide from Mountain Rock Treks was very art history-based and imparted knowledge on carvings, the murals, and the symbolism of temples.

He was enthusiastic about his topic, and we could wander freely throughout the courtyards at our leisure.

The van transport both fathers from Thamel was very comfortable, and we returned in the late afternoon. The cultural tour was very well organized.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary by taking a private helicopter tour from Lukla to Kathmandu through Mountain Rock Treks. The journey was pure luxury with ample space, a professional pilot, and a pleasant Himalayan scenery. Not having to go through the traffic of the airport and landing directly at Kathmandu was an added advantage to the anniversary holiday.
