The fixed departure tour for the Tiji festival in Lo Manthang was the perfect selection for our group; the jeep was a perfect decision. Mr Dipak took care of the permits, even getting front-row seating at the festival. The driver, as well as the guide, was excellent and would go out of their way to show you around Mustang. The itinerary's goal was cultural engagement, and cultural engagement was achieved. I found Mountain Rock Treks via Instagram and was engaged with the posts that shared local culture. Our guide Sonam was able to share organically engagement with a Tibetan family where we shared yak butter tea, and were engaged in conversation with the family about their everyday lives. 

Our family of five took the Tibet 8-day tour, and it was a fantastic experience. The itinerary covered Lhasa, Shigatse, Gyantse, and more, offering a great mix of culture, history, and nature. The kids loved seeing the monasteries and the spectacular mountain views. Mountain Rock Treks provided excellent service and affordable pricing compared to other operators. Highly recommended for families seeking a safe and enriching trip.

Kanchenjunga was a dream assignment as a landscape photographer. It was a small but priceless detail that Mountain Rock Treks appointed a guide who understood my desire to halt and wait for perfect light. The view of Jannu driving into Kambachen is also the most dramatic mountain photograph I've made in the last fifteen years.

The Tiji Festival MUST be attended. The permits and arrangements through Mountain Rock Treks for Upper Mustang could not have been any easier. The team at Mountain Rock Treks is so connected in Lo Manthang that even with the Tiji Festival, there were arrangements for a great room to stay at. Absolutely recommended for cultural tours.

Various companies tend to hide their policies on restricted weight of the bags or add extra charges for weight on arrival. Mountain Rock Treks was very clear about having 10-15 kg duffel bags for high-altitude trekkers. We were also allowed to leave our extra baggage at the company's hotel in Kathmandu free of cost. The two-leg flight from Muktinath to Pokhara and Kathmandu was smooth, and the company's organization was praiseworthy.

We wanted something fun outside, since for the weekend, as not too far from Kathmandu. Mountain Rock Treks planned for us to take the Nagarjun-Jamacho hike with our group.

I totally enjoyed the combination of forest, temples, and viewpoints on the hike for all fitness levels.
