I recently embarked on the Everest Base Camp trek, but with a twist - we decided to return by helicopter. It was an experience like no other! Our journey began in Lukla, where we hiked to Everest Base Camp. The adrenaline was pumping as we flew from Kathmandu to Lukla on a small local plane packed with around 15 to 16 people. It was quite an adventurous start to our trip.
Accompanying me were a handful of fellow tourists who had also embarked on the same excursion to visit Nepal's Everest region. The flight duration to Lukla was surprisingly brief, clocking in at less than an hour. This was the starting point of my trek toward the esteemed Everest Base Camp. The helicopter ride proved remarkably smooth, affording me astonishing vistas. The grandeur of the scenery left me stunned. I would like to thank Mountain Rock Trek's compassionate and amiable staff for their exceptional hospitality and support throughout the journey. Their warmth and professionalism were truly admirable.
I had travelled alone by a group-sharing helicopter of Mountain Rock Treks following my island peak climbing trek. It was economical and an excellent means of socializing with fellow similar-type trekkers. My group of five of us became instant friends and chatted as we traversed over the valley. Everything was handled by the staff comfortably and it was a hassle-free experience. We all felt it well worth every rupee to miss the danger of regular flights and the Ramechhap long drive. Highly suitable for solo travellers or small groups on a cost-conscious social plan.
Trekking the Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit with Mountain Rock Treks was an unforgettable experience — truly one of the most unique and culturally immersive adventures I've ever had.
From the very beginning, the team was professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful in customizing the trek to suit our group’s preferences and pace. Our guide was not only knowledgeable about the route, history, and Tibetan-Buddhist culture of the Tsum Valley, but also incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the region.
The Tsum Valley itself felt like a step back in time — isolated, serene, and spiritually rich. We visited ancient monasteries like Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa, interacted with local villagers, and got to witness a side of Nepal that many trekkers never see. The Manaslu section added breathtaking high-altitude passes, dramatic Himalayan scenery, and an ever-changing landscape that kept the trek engaging from start to finish.
Logistics were smooth throughout — from permits to accommodations to meals on the trail. We felt safe and well taken care of, especially in the more remote sections. Mountain Rock Treks handled everything with care and efficiency.
I highly recommend this trek to anyone looking for something off-the-beaten-path, combining natural beauty with cultural depth. And if you're planning it, go with Mountain Rock Treks — they truly know and respect this region, and they made our experience seamless and special.
Thank you for an incredible journey — I’ll definitely be back for more!
I had the absolute pleasure of doing the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek in September 2025 with Mountain Rock Treks, and it was truly one of the most enriching and awe-inspiring experiences of my life.
From the very first inquiry to the final farewell in Kathmandu, Mountain Rock Treks exceeded all expectations. The communication was smooth and clear, and every detail of the trip was thoughtfully planned. The trek itself was a beautiful blend of natural wonder and cultural immersion—towering peaks, peaceful valleys, ancient monasteries, and some of the kindest people I’ve ever met.
The Tsum Valley felt like a sacred, hidden world—far away from the more crowded trails of Nepal. We visited incredible places like Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa, where time seemed to stand still. The scenery was breathtaking, but what made it truly special was our guide, EK, who shared stories, history, and laughter every step of the way. His knowledge, professionalism, and compassion made us feel safe and deeply connected to the journey. Our porters were amazing as well—always smiling, always helpful. I was constantly in awe of their strength and kindness.
Accommodations were simple but clean and cozy, and the food was much better than I expected in such remote areas. Mountain Rock Treks made sure we were comfortable and well-fed throughout.
If you're considering a trek in Nepal and want to go beyond the usual routes, I highly recommend the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek. And without a doubt, go with Mountain Rock Treks. Their local expertise, personalized care, and deep respect for the land and people make all the difference.
Thank you for an unforgettable adventure—I’ll be back for Annapurna next!
The service was very good – the guides in Kathmandu let us visit all the pilgrimage sites, such as Pashupatinath and Budhanilkantha. We also attended the awe-inspiring evening aarti at Pashupatinath, which was a fantastic experience. Of course, my favourite thing was a helicopter trip to Muktinath. The top-class helicopter took us to the Himalayas, giving us a breathtaking view, a scene that completely bewildered me. My arrival in Muktinath was a blessing, and joining my sacred time in the temple for prayers was just a process of going through the sacred way. No doubt, this is the best Tour company I would recommend.
The Upper Mustang Tiji Festival Jeep Tour was an enriching experience to attend. The mesmerising traditional dances enhanced the cultural experience. Although I faced the problem of altitude sickness, professional guides helped me immediately and kept me safe throughout my travels. The pleasant jeep tour provided a relaxing ride, and the nice driver further added to its appeal. I'll never forget exploring the mystical terrain of Upper Mustang and seeing people in their revelry during the Tiji Festival. I Highly recommend this Tiji festival-focused Jeep tour for its cultural wealth, attentive guides, and comfortable means of transport.
In 2022, I started this journey with great wonderment at the Tiji festival. The tour not only met but surpassed my expectations. The tough jeep easily conquered the treacherous terrain, letting me bask in the magnificent views of Upper Mustang. The festival itself was a bewildering spectacle of ancient Sacred rituals and colourful Nomadic Culture. Mountain Rock Treks has ensured that every element of the journey is smooth, making the trip memorable. For those searching for a genuine cultural encounter and an adventurous trip that will leave you wanting more, this tour is definitely the one you are looking for.
