Khumbu Valley should be at the top of the list, with the ultimate prize being a visit to Everest Base Camp at a staggering altitude of 5364 meters. To avoid altitude sickness, it's crucial to spend a few days acclimatizing at Namche and Dingboche, follow the "go high, sleep low" rule, and avoid climbing too quickly by limiting altitude gain to less than 500 meters per day. The reward for this careful preparation is a mesmerizing view of the Khumbu Glacier, Khumbu Icefall, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the magnificent peak of Everest itself. This experience will leave an unforgettable impact on your life.
The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla was exhilarating, with breathtaking views of Nepal's lush vegetation. Being close to Mount Everest was an incredible experience. Climbing the cliff face of Everest Base Camp was the highlight, and the sight of the Khumbu Glaciers from Kalapathhar was rejuvenating. The trek's excellent accommodations and food were unforgettable, and Namche Bazaar's charm reminded me of old Japanese films.
Due to time constraints in Nepal, we opted for a thrilling helicopter ride from Kathmandu to Lukla. The breathtaking vistas from above were simply awe-inspiring. Despite our time limitations, this turned out to be the ultimate Himalayan experience for us. Our heartfelt thanks to Mountain Rock for their exceptional planning and support.
Three Peak Expedition was a breathtaking adventure! Guided by Aangdawa, our skilled Sherpa team provided unparalleled support throughout the journey. The accommodation varied from tents to tea houses, adding to the excitement of the expedition. From start to finish, the trip was flawless, and I have many stunning photos of five of the world's 8000m peaks to show. The camaraderie among the group was remarkable, and I am certain our bond will endure for years. Mountain Rock Treks surpassed expectations, managing everything from airport pickups to transportation and internal flights and ensuring the group's safety, which allowed us to focus on conquering the mountain.
If you need more time and are keen on trekking downhill, going for the Everest Base Camp trek and returning by helicopter is the perfect choice. I booked this trek in 2023 with three friends through Mountain Rock Treks. It was an unforgettable trip to Nepal.
We booked up for a 10-day trek to Everest Base Camp with Mountain Rock Treks. It was an incredible journey with our guide, Dawa, and porter, Mingma. We had some rest days in Namche and Dingboche, but our favorite was Tengboche, where we visited the oldest Buddhist monastery. Our guide, Suresh, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We reached Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp, achieving our goal and witnessing breathtaking views. The pickup from Gorekshep and the hour-long flight from Lukla was quite enjoyable. We even took a photo of the Lukla Airport signboard. Deepak from Mountain Rock Treks managed everything perfectly and was very trustworthy. We sincerely thank Mountain Rock Treks for helping us accomplish our goal. We recommend their service for the Everest Base Camp Trek Return by Helicopter.
What an extraordinary experience the Lukla helicopter flight was. The helicopter ride was smooth and comfortable, providing stunning views of the rugged Himalayan terrain. The flight took us directly to Lukla, saving hours of trekking time. The pilot's skills and knowledge of the area were impressive, instilling confidence. This is an excellent option for those with limited time or physical constraints. I'm grateful for this incredible opportunity.
It was indeed a lifetime experience I couldn't describe in words... Special thanks to our helicopter ride organiser Deepak... an amiable person who personally arranged the tour for us...that too at a very reasonable price...also thank our pilot Dawa for flying us...
