The month-long journey I embarked on was the most thrilling adventure I had experienced thus far. I am grateful to Deepak for his incredible itinerary and exceptional service, which made it all possible. Additionally, the itinerary fulfilled my long-time dream of hiking to Everest Base Camp. I cannot imagine finding better service from any other trek agency in Nepal. I appreciated how Deepak and his team made me feel like a part of their family. Regarding trekking and climbing in Nepal, they are undoubtedly the industry's best.
This trek was something I’d been planning for a long time, and when my friend went with Mountain Rock Treks five years ago, he couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. I didn’t realize why until I went myself. The trek from Phaplu to Everest Base Camp was amazing. The trip itself is very well put together, and the support you get is unbelievable. I’m 45 and relatively fit, but this pushed me to my limit in a good way. The guides were amazing and friendly, always looking after us and making sure we were safe and okay. This trip really tested my endurance, and I couldn’t have asked for a better company to take me on.
The Everest base camp trek was great, but the real highlight came when we boarded the helicopter for our return. Flying above Everest Base Camp was an awe-inspiring experience. The pilot skillfully pointed out each majestic mountain, filling us with wonder and excitement.
I planned a memorable birthday surprise for my family by booking a private helicopter tour to Everest Base Camp. The experience was beyond incredible! Flying amidst the mighty Himalayas was awe-inspiring, and reaching the base camp was a dream come true. The views were breathtaking, and sharing this adventure with my loved ones made it even more special. A heartfelt thank you to the team for making my birthday genuinely extraordinary!
I travelled during peak season, and there were no flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. As a result, we had to take a flight to Manthali first and then another flight to Lukla. This was quite time-consuming and frustrating, but I understood it was the only option available. However, the views were breathtaking once we finally arrived in Lukla and boarded the helicopter. The flight was smooth, and the pilot was very skilled. We saw stunning mountain ranges and landscapes that I will never forget. I would recommend this tour, but just be aware that alternative transportation methods may be necessary during the peak season to reach your destination.
The Mountain Rock jeep service was a godsend for our EBC trek! The private jeep (5-seater Scorpio) of Mountain Rock provided mobility to visit local markets and monasteries en route. The driver provided good Sherpa cultural information on the Kathmandu-Salleri drive (14 hours). The Salleri-Surke road was rough, but the team provided cushions and motion sickness pills. We arrived at the Lukla faster than friends who flew in and with no altitude headaches. Their crisis management is very helpful during the Lukla flight uncertainties.
The guide offered excellent care, especially when I was sick due to altitude. He took me to the hospital and made sure that I was okay before he left. With all the difficulties while being a solo traveller in Nepal, I was left overwhelmed with gratitude for the warmth and support I received during this difficult time. Tour organiser Deepak even came and picked me up from the hospital and later dropped me in Lukla for my further journey back home. It was not just their unwavering dedication and thoughtful service but also the sense that they were committed to serving customer satisfaction. I highly thank Mountain Rock Treks for turning my trek into a memorable and safe adventure.
It was a fairly easy hike; thoroughly enjoyed the trail and observed the daily lives of people, their culture, their traditions, and all. The accommodations at guesthouses en route are modest and tidy, with some even offering WiFi. I had the privilege of meeting truly remarkable individuals who shared similar interests, creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Remember to bring bottled water for your daily trek.
