I recently got back from a terrific helicopter trip to Everest base camp. It was an excellent package offered by Mountain Rock Treks. Since a private helicopter flight was out of my price range, I opted for a group tour. I relished the companionship of the other flying passengers. We got to know each other as we waited for the helicopter.
Mountain Rock Treks contacted me shortly after I booked the reservation. The booking process was quite simple too. Before the flight, they offer some excellent advice. It was an incredible experience to see so many mountains nearby, including Mount Everest. There is no better way to see the Himalayas in Nepal than on a helicopter tour of Everest base camp. I highly advise it.
One of the highlights of the trek for me was the opportunity to visit the Gokyo Lakes, a series of stunningly blue glacial lakes located at the base of Gokyo Ri. The serene beauty of the lakes was truly mesmerizing, and it was an incredible experience to take a dip in the freezing waters.
Overall, I highly recommend the Gokyo Valley Trek with Mountain Rock Treks to anyone looking to adventure in the Himalayas. The team was fantastic, and the views were truly breathtaking. The trek was challenging but extremely rewarding, and I came away from it with a greater appreciation for the beauty and power of nature. If you're considering a trek in Nepal, try the Gokyo Valley. You won't be disappointed.
Throughout the trek, you will be accompanied by knowledgeable and experienced guides who will ensure your journey is safe and enjoyable. In my case, I was lucky to have Ram and Vivek as my guides from Mountain Rock Treks. They were skilled at navigating the trails and provided valuable insights into the culture and history of the region. They were a pleasure to spend time with and added to the overall experience of the trip.
I did it. The uncertainty I harbored regarding my inability to reach the summit was dispelled when Dawa showcased his expertise during the pre-climb training session, assisting me in refining my climbing abilities. It was a fruitful day, providing me with the necessary preparation for the final ascent. While the climb may not be excessively difficult, it can challenge individuals like me. However, overcoming these obstacles becomes a seamless endeavor with the presence and guidance of a remarkable leader such as Dawa Sherpa.
I'm glad we completed this before leaving Nepal. Being picked up and dropped off at our hotel was the option we went with; it worked out well and was practical. We were picked up promptly and arrived at the airport in plenty of time for our trip. The flight itself was incredible; the Himalayas were in full view, and Mt. Everest was the highlight for us. We had a pure blue sky, so we couldn't have asked for a better idea of them. The opportunity to tour the cockpit was fantastic, and the air hostess did a terrific job of pointing out to people the many mountains we were now seeing so we could follow the mountain range on the flyer we were given. I would recommend taking this flight
The Tilicho Lake trek was a fantasy, but we understood that some portion of the trek was exhausting. Instead of exhausting ourselves, we thought of taking the jeep ride for some portion so that we would be able to enjoy the view without complete weariness. The blend of trek and off-road adventure was just ideal. Mountain Rock Treks had this organized so beautifully. The accommodations were great, the meals were great, and our guide was professional and nice. This was the best way to go to Tilicho without losing the adventure.
We booked With Mountain Rock Treks, where the guides maintained an impressive pace throughout the hike. Their attentiveness towards our well-being and safety was evident as they went above and beyond to offer assistance. A remarkable example of their dedication was when I accidentally dropped my hiking pole while pausing on a bridge to capture a photo. Unsure of its whereabouts, we couldn't locate it anywhere. Despite this setback, I proceeded with the hike. After approximately an hour, the lead guide surprised me by returning my hiking pole. Thank you, Mountain Rock Tresk, for the support during the whole trek.
Our comprehensive cultural experience was led by our Mountain Rock Treks guide, Ram. He did not stop at talking about the temples; he took us to pottery workshops and into traditional Newar houses behind the square.
He shared lessons about various festivals and restoration efforts, efforts we never would have touched on our own. It was a superb experience and totally organized, culturally inspired, transport included, this was the real deal.
