Everest Base Camp is located inside the protected area in the Sagarmatha region. So it would be best if you had an entry permit for any journey into the Everest zone. And among those licenses are the ones from the Gauri Shankar Conservation Area, Sagarmatha National Park, and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality.

Permits for Everest Base Camp Trek
In the past, a TIMS card was necessary for trekking in the Everest region. But because of decentralization, the TIMS card is no longer required for the Everest Base Camp Trek. Decentralization has led to the implementation of a new permission system in the Everest Region. Receiving a TIMS card is replaced by the local area permit, which costs Nrs 2,000.
- Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit One of the most significant costs involved with an Everest Base Camp Permit is the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. This is one of the initial permissions you will require to begin your Everest Base Camp Trek. To enter, you must show proof that you pose no danger to the people of the Khumbu region.
- Foreign nationals must pay USD $30 or per person for single entry (vat inclusive)
- SAARC nationals Nrs 1500 for single entry (vat inclusive)
- Nepali Nrs.100 Per Person for Single entry (vat inclusive)

Where to Get the Permission?
This permit may be obtained in Lukla. However, hikers starting from Phaplu must obtain their permits from the Sagarmatha National Park Counter in Monjo. This permit cannot be obtained in Kathmandu because it is examined and managed by the local authority.
Sagarmatha National Park Permit
It has long been recognized as a World Heritage Site and is one of Nepal's most incredible National Parks. Sagarmatha National Park, founded in 1976, protects uncommon animals and vegetation. The region is home to several red pandas, snow leopards, Himalayan black bears, and musk deer. Additionally, it's an excellent location to view the Himalayan Monal and the splendor of the blood pheasant.
Where do we go to obtain the permit?
Entry permits for the Sagarmatha National Park are available at the entrance gate in Monjo or at the Department of National Park and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) counter at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu.
Outside the counter in Monjo, there will occasionally be an extensive line. For this reason, you can obtain the SNP permit in Kathmandu before your trip to Lukla to avoid complications.EBC trekking license.

3. Additional Permit for Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek Some hikers prefer to travel from Jiri to Namche via Shivalaya and then on to Everest Base Camp. If you continue on this trek from Jiri, you must purchase a permit for the Gauri Shankar Conservation Area at Shivalaya. We advise purchasing this permit for $20 from the Kathmandu Tourism Board. But the cost is double, or USD 40, if you purchase it from Shivalaya while traveling to Namche.
These were the trek permits for the Everest Base Camp required to enter the Khumbu zone. Only about $50 USD is required. Therefore, be sure to collect them all as needed. If not, you risk getting into problems, paying a fine, and being apprehended by the police.
Keep the permitted safe with you after you receive it. You can therefore display it to the officials if they ask you at various times. These authorizations resemble entry passes for the Everest region.
