I recently enjoyed 4 lovely weeks of hiking in eastern Nepal's isolated Kanchenjunga region. The walk was extremely stressful, requiring several lengthy ascents and descents over difficult terrain over the long days. The landscape was beautiful and ranged from luxuriant tropical foliage to imposing, snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Early on in the walk, the temperature was fairly warm. Later, we had a few days of snow as well as light rain. All of this is simply a must of Himalayan trekking. Fortunately, the tents we slept in were spacious and bomb-proof. Meeting the locals was another exciting aspect of the journey. They consistently greeted us with friendliness and open arms.

We hiked to Mesokanto La Pass and Tilicho Lake throughout the course of our 17 days in the Annapurna region, having a blast and having amazing encounters. We appreciate our porters and Dipak, who planned the entire trip and looked after us at all times in the background.

Although Dhaulagiri trekking is much more physically taxing, we still recommend it. Even though we spent five nights at altitudes higher than 15,000 feet, the experience was exceptional due to the close proximity of the peaks. We made a steep but manageable ascent to the French Pass. Overall, my trip to Mount Dhaulagiri was wonderful and unforgettable. The Mountain Rock team had a fantastic package for us. What a wonderful nation with wonderful people. Despite its economic hardship, Nepal has a rich culture and population. This trek offers the chance to get lost in Nepal's remote regions, where few people venture. It offers a smooth transition from the warm, muggy valleys to the high, forested areas surrounding Dhaulagiri. Raptors soar, and there are many butterflies. The Mountain Rock Treks and its employees offer excellent, highly individualized service, and their treks are meticulously planned.
