About Pokhara Valley Tour

The Pokhara Valley Tour encompasses all the natural beauties, adventure, and cultural experiences combined in probably the most beautiful part of Nepal. The city of Pokhara lies about 205 km west of Kathmandu and is considered one of the entrance gates towards the Annapurna mountain range. It is famous for its serene lakes, enchanting landscapes, and magnificent Himalayan sights.

One of the main attractions of the 6-hour Pokhara Tour is Phewa Lake, the second-biggest lake in Nepal where the tour starts. One can go boating and absorb the tranquillity of the green hills surrounding it. The top of the hill hosts the World Peace Pagoda, where one can have a panoramic view of the valley with mountains-a quiet retreat that is good for reflection.

As for the number of natural wonders to see on tour, there are a bunch. Devi's Fall is a waterfall cascading into a deep gorge steeped in local legend, while nearby Mahendra Cave houses some interesting rock formations. For those who like some adventure, the Sarangkot Hill visit can be added too, which is the favourite paragliding destination, where the aerial thrill is obtained for the Annapurna range.

The International Mountain Museum epitomises the history of mountaineering in the region, flora, and fauna found here and should be a must-visit for the culturally inclined. Other activities on this tour involve visits to local bazaars with the purpose of getting an overview of daily life and an opportunity to purchase local handicrafts.

Rich in ethnic diversities of Magars, Gurungs, and Thakalis, Pokhara represents a wide cultural canvas. One gets to interact with the people in the traditional villages to learn about customs and ways of life.

Our Pokhara Valley Tour is designed to be an enriching exploration of religious centres and natural miracles with the accompaniment of a highly experienced local guide. This is excellently offered pre- or post-trek or simply for general leisure and learning. This tour can be tailored to suit your particular areas of interest and time scale.

The Pokhara Valley tour can be planned together with additional activities: short hikes, longer treks, or more adrenaline-heavy activities such as bungee jumping and zip-lining. From relaxation to adventure, the Pokhara Valley tour offers a well-rounded Nepalese experience against the background of the majestic Himalayas.

5 Highlights Places You Will Visit on Pokhara Day Tour

Devi's Fall: A Tragic Tale of Nature's Power

Davis Fall, or more popularly Devi's Fall, is a waterfall with a sad history. Named after a Swiss tourist, Davi, who plunged into its waters and never came out again in 1961, the Fall is where the Pardi River suddenly falls into an underground gorge. Waterfall amazes people during the monsoon season; it forms a cloud of mist and a loud roar while falling into the cave below. Safety features were put in place on-site to allow visitors to see the site and its beauty while remembering the sad history of the site.

Gupteshwor Cave: A Hidden Spiritual Wonder

Next to Devi's Fall is the highly valued natural wonder of the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, which gets much of its religious value from Hindu mythology. This is more than a 5000-year-old cave and contains a naturally formed Shiva Lingam inside, thereby making it a significant pilgrimage site for devotees. Its name itself, "Hidden God," describes the accidental discovery of this cave in 1991. When going further inside the cave, one can even catch a glimpse of the underground course of Devi's Fall through a narrow opening.

International Mountain Museum

The International Mountain Museum displays the mountaineering history in Nepal. The museum spreads over 12.6 acres, offering an all-inclusive lookout over towering peaks, cultures of mountain people, flora, and fauna of high-altitude regions. Its four exhibition halls mainly enable visitors to go around the geological aspect of the Himalayas to the equipment used by various climbers during their trekking over the years. It points out various environmental issues, mostly the change in mountain ecosystems due to climate change in Nepal.

Seti George

The Seti Gandaki River is the true-life giver of Pokhara. This mysterious river gnaws deep gorges through the city and occasionally disappears under boulders only to reappear further downstream. Nature's engineering winds its way from the Annapurna massif to the Trisuli River K.I. Singh Bridge presents a good vantage point to see it take its first plunge through an ultra-narrow aperture into its subterranean adventure.

World Peace Pagoda

The World Peace Pagoda sits atop a hill high above Phewa Lake, offering spiritual solace and views. Brilliant white, this is a Japanese-style structure and one of 80 such pagodas in the world that are devoted to peace. The pagoda houses four Buddha statues representing the different moments in Buddha's life that were brought from different countries. This hike or drive will reward the visitor with great views of Pokhara, surrounding mountains, and Phewa Lake from the top.

How To Reach Pokhara Valley?

Tourist Bus

Tourist buses are a popular and economical choice for travelling to Pokhara. You can choose among some 20 different companies operating this route. It takes 9-10 hours of driving apart from meal times and comfort breaks. Buses usually leave early in the morning, arriving in Pokhara at about 3 PM. The road has many curves, though it is not as dangerous as many say. Taking anti-motion sickness medication and downloading movies, etc., should make the ride quite comfortable.

Local Bus

Local buses are much cheaper but often crowded and less safe and comfortable than tourist buses. These small buses tend to ride quickly. It is an option for budget travellers, but generally advised to pay more for a tourist bus to make the experience bearable.

Another option, mainly for those who can take on a little more flexibility or for those who travel in small groups, is hiring a taxi or private car. Private vehicle prices range from $50 to $80, according to the kind of vehicle and your negotiation skills. Very often, direct contact with the drivers is cheaper than through agencies.
