At 3800 meters, the Kori Danda is located. As a result, the Kori journey reaches a maximum altitude of 3800 meters. The Kori journey is a wonderful experience. Kori is a fantastic visiting place in Nepal.

Kori Danda is recognized as Nepal's geographic center. It is camping that is used to plan a hike. It's close to Pokhara, in the Pokhara valley's northeast corner. The distance between Pokhara and Sikles, according to the map, is 45.425 kilometers. Sikles is a lovely indigenous Gurung village and one of the largest Gurung settlements. This journey may be referred to as the Sikles trek.

Pokhara is the starting point for the Kori Heli Tour. As you approach, you'll be flying above the bustling hamlet of Sikles. Sikles is a small but densely inhabited community with people from several different ethnic groups. The Gurung people live in the village. You will visit the world's lowest glacier, the magnificent Kapuche Lake, which is situated in a breathtaking setting. Finally, at 3800 meters above sea level, we arrive at lovely scenery Kori Danda. You will be treated to a spectacular glimpse of the Annapurna Himalayan range. Return to Pokhara valley after 30 minutes of picture sessions and being rejuvenated by nature.

Kori Danda Kapuche Lake is the focal point and an ideal location for seeing Mother Nature's most beautiful beauty. The hill is delicately carpeted by grass, and many flowers contribute to the hill's charm. The smoky clouds in front of you will give you the feeling of being in the clouds in the morning. Not to mention the breathtaking mountain views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Manaslu, Mana Pathi Himal, and Lamjung Himal that you will get to see while on the Heli-excursion.

As a day excursion, another deity has been gifted along the road. Kahphuche Lake is where you'll find it (Kapuche lake). Kapuche Lake is Nepal's lowest glacial lake. Kapuche is located at a height of 2450 meters. The water in the lake is a brilliant blue. There is also a boat available to have some fun and get some boating experience on the glacial lake. This is a two-in-one journey that includes both the Sikles and Kori treks. Another possibility is to join the Annapurna Circuit Trek via Namun La Pass (5560m). From Kori Danda, it takes roughly 3 days to go to Timang.

Historically, only Ghale and Gurung people have lived in this area. Their religion of choice is Buddhism, as is that of the Bon Po, who worship nature and ultimate divinity. The Gurung Ghale has a distinct culture and language from the rest of Nepal's castes.

A helicopter journey to Kori Danda also provides an unobstructed view of the Pokhara valley and the spectacular Himalayan scenery. It's a once-in-a-lifetime sensation to stand on the earth above the clouds, surrounded by towering peaks. Kori is a true Nepalese gem, with its scenic and unspoiled beauty. The one-hour helicopter journey to Kori provides a panoramic view of mountains, flora, beautiful green forests, waterways, and other sights. In addition, the hilltop features a lovely grassland that is covered in snow throughout the winter. The hike is short and simple, and the scenery is lovely and pristine.

BEST TIME TO VISIT KORI HILL

SPRING (March, April, May)

Spring is the best time that surprises every visitor with its awesome weather and natural beauty. Spring is the season when the earth turns colorful. We will get to see beautiful flowers blooming everywhere below the clear bluish sky. The Himalayas with the light snow seen from distance is eye-catching. We won't be exhausted during the tour as it is such an eye-pleasing snow-capped mountain that we are gonna see. Walking beneath the bluish sky is something rare. The days are pleasant with normal temperatures. Clear blue skies and sort of flying birds above in the sky create a mystic view. This is the most colorful time of the year. We can rest assured of the change in temperature during spring hence, This is the best time of the year for Kori Helitours.

Autumn (Sep, Oct, Nov)

Autumn is also another beautiful season. September to November is the season of Autumn. The weather remains constant during the Autumn days. The days will be chilly and cold because of the light wind. This is another beautiful moment of the year. It offers the best scenic views to observe. The Himalayas are wonderful and covered in snow. We witness the clear skies and fresh air, Autumn is unique in beauty.

The greenery of the Kori danda offers scenic views of falling leaves everywhere giving a changing vibe to the beauty of nature. We can travel without worrying about uncertain climate change. The Global Warming issues are recently uncertainties in the change in the season but taking heli tour in autumn is a great choice. This season attracts lots of tourists around the world. It is also crowded as spring. There are no other interventions during the trek so, it is good to travel during Autumn equally to spring.

Monsoon(June, July, August)

Monsoon is not a good season to travel. The weather is not favorable to fly. There will be clouds and It creates a high risk of rain anytime. It is not safe to travel during such uncertain weather. There will be dropping in temperature as we move to higher altitudes. We will have to carry more and additional toughness must be faced because of the condition of the weather. Flights outside of the monsoon season are much more likely to run as scheduled, however, rain, fog, or smog can impact flights at any time of year The monsoon season is in full swing during this time of year as the nice and cozy, moisture encumbered water from the Indian Ocean reasons rapid downpours. The routes tend to be very empty with the best excessive-altitude die-hards braving the rains.

Winter (December, January, February)

Winter is the season of cold and snow. There is a fall in the temperature due to which there occurs the snowfall in Kori Danda. There is no crowd of visitors during the winter therefore, it might be suitable for some of the visitors who like to visit uncrowded places. They can explore nature in their way. Winter is the best opportunity to witness the snow-covered mountains. But the challenges are dangerous.

We will be suffering from uncomfortable weather, extreme cold, wind, and snowfall on us. Our body won't sustain the temperature. Winter is an off-season for trekking so we can get the Off-season discounts during the winter. Although there are some good opportunities to travel during winter, the fact is the more challenges and troubles we will have to face. Thus it is not recommended for travelers to travel in winter. It is less fun and more troublesome to trek during the winter.  The fogs will cover the glass and the view will get blurred which creates the risk of flying. But the best time to see snow-capped mountains is in winter.

FAQs

  • Q1. Where is Kori in Nepal ?

Kori hill is located in Kaski's northern region, and you may reach Hugu by following the trail toward Namun Bhanjyang. Then you must climb Kori hill, which will take you to a height of almost 3800 meters. The hill is around 27 kilometers northeast of the Pokhara valley.

  • It follows a similar course as the Kaphuche Glacier Lake journey, except that instead of continuing ahead, we rise from Hugu. These two hikes can alternatively be combined by first hiking to Kaphuche Lake and then rising to Kori Hill. We arrive at Hugu goth, a meadow for sheep grazing, after following a stone-step route and across grassland. We next climb to Kori Hill and set up a tent on Nho-Ta. The area is desolate, and the trail passes through oak, rhododendron, and bamboo forests. We can visit the Kori hilltop and viewpoint the next day, which gives amazing views of the mountains and lowlands. On the Annapurna Mountain range, you may occasionally hear and observe distant avalanche rumblings.

Pilgrims that visit the holy lake of Dudh Pokhari, which is located northeast of Kori hill, use the trek up to Hugu. Trekkers utilize the trail because it leads to Namun bhanjyang or Namun La pass, which connects to the famed Annapurna Circuit at Timang. Namun bhanjyang is one of Annapurna conservation area's most demanding passes. This hike can also be combined with Annapurna Circuit Trekking for more ambitious travelers.

  • Kori is a relatively new hiking route, hence there are no guest rooms or motels to stay in. In Hugu, Nho Ta, and Kori hilltops, trekkers must spend the night in tents. It might be difficult to find food services along the journey as well. We will provide porters for you who will be able to deliver food and cook it as well. Accommodations in Kathmandu are either added or may be booked independently. We can provide transportation to and from Pokhara, as well as lodging in Pokhara, upon request. Of course, there are tea houses, Namaste Lodges, and Gurung guest houses in the Sikles.

  • This is a recently opened hiking route that has yet to be fully explored, and the trail is primarily off-the-beaten-path. There aren't nearly enough signposts to help you find the appropriate path to the lake. It might be difficult for trekkers without a guide to locate a trail, let alone hotels and adequate meals.

As a result, we recommend that you embark on the Kori hike with a knowledgeable guide. Our guide is well-versed in altitude sickness, and in the case of an emergency, he will contact the insurance company and us for assistance.

  • The cost of the Kori trek for a Nepali citizen can be customized according to the customer's needs and time constraints. Every week, we offer trek departures, and we are open to discussing provisions and associated prices for the journey.
